Loose Dog

Earlier today Cam was down at the little highway that runs near our house, waiting for the bus, when he saw a man on the corner pointing and hollering. The man was pointing up our street and yelling "Go! Go home!"

Cam was trying to figure out what was going on when our Akita came trotting around the corner, happy as a clam at high tide, apparently following Cam's scent. Cam dashed across the street (where there was a fatal hit and run a few months ago) and caught Mal by his harness and trotted him home.

Our roommate who rents my upstairs, who is moving to Hawaii in three weeks, had left the gate open and Mal had decided to go exploring.

This was this morning around nine or so. Then Cam went to school and did his thing, came home, took a nap then took the bus up the road to go Game Stop to buy something. When he came back home the gate was open again!

Luckily this time all the pets were in the house but Mal likes to hang around outside for a couple of hours a day, especially once summer is over. He's a cold weather dog and the colder it is the more he wants out. I guess I'm going to have to keep a tight rein on him until the roommate is gone. Poor puppy.
